Founded in 2008 and based in Dallas, Texas, Caliber has developed strategic and award-winning design work for a diverse collection of brands and clients.
Our passion is to craft brand stories from the ground up. From initial concepts through final execution, Caliber defines a brand’s voice, personality and style through a variety of deliverables tailored to meet the established goals and objectives.
Need to support an already existing brand? No problem — we’ve got it covered. From research and strategy to advertising and marketing collateral, we can bring new ideas and campaigns to the table while remaining on-brand to the target audience.
How does brand voice and tone translate to the ever-evolving digital space? It’s a challenge Caliber embraces on a daily basis, and as the rules change, so do we. Whether a mobile-friendly website design is in order or a digital strategy needs to be employed, we’re committed to keeping the brand relevant.
Caliber has always worked nationally with a diverse client base, and that diversity helps keep us sharp.

Originally an Okie from Muskogee, Murphy relocated to the Dallas area, where he earned a BFA in communication design from the University of North Texas. Since graduating in 1993, he has focused his work within the corporate and retail sectors. In the fall of 2008, Murphy opened the doors to his own firm, Caliber Creative, with partners Bret Sano and Erin Fletcher. His body of work has been recognized in award shows and periodicals including The AR100, Communication Arts, Graphic Design USA, Graphis, HOW and Print.
Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Bret has lived in DFW for over 25 years. After graduating from The Art Institute of Dallas in 1993 he built an award-winning career as a graphic designer, working primarily in boutique studios for clients ranging from corporate to consumer retail. As a founder and working creative director of Caliber Creative, Bret enjoys new brand design challenges as well as mentoring younger team members. He also fancies himself a quasi-Pacific Northwesterner and somewhat decent photographer.
Since before she was born through today, Karie has spent time in multiple countries. A passion for travel and meeting people has taught her much about the importance of building relationships, which she brings to her role at Caliber. The beauty and excitement of the creative industry brought Karie to Caliber in early 2013 where she has been managing creative assignments ever since.
In 2009, Bryan moved from Houston to study visual communications at The University of Texas at Arlington, and shortly before graduating with his B.F.A. in 2013, he began working with the Caliber team. The American Advertising Federation, the Dallas Society of Visual Communications, and Print have recognized his work. When he’s not designing, you can find him at concerts, coffee shops, binge-watching Netflix or checking out the local art scene.
Silvia moved from Mexico to Texas when she was just a toddler. Growing up, she always showed an interest in the arts — constantly doodling and designing t-shirts in her hometown. After discovering that her passion had a name, she went on to study communication design at the University of North Texas, earning her B.F.A. in the spring of 2014. Shortly after, she found her first design home in Caliber. When she isn’t working, Silvia loves trying new foods, attending music events and exploring what her city has to offer.
Always a seeker of the unknown, Alyssa has a variety of obscure interests ranging from experimental home cooking to 1950s science fiction, fueling her eclectic approach to design. In 2015, Alyssa earned her B.F.A. in Communication Design at the University of North Texas and found her creative sanctuary at Caliber in the same year. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys traveling to places she can’t pronounce, elaborate practical jokes, and obsessively taking photos of her two Miniature Schnauzers, Frank and Stella.
Steve is a transplanted native Austinite who is embracing his second home of Dallas. With over 20 years in production and advertising at all levels, Steve has seen just about every kind of project and broken down every kind of file. He is happy to let you make it beautiful so that he can help make it efficient. He is a veritable 80s pop culture encyclopedia. Steve collects analog synthesizers, is the world’s biggest Steelers fan and loves his wife, daughter and his two fluffy collie mixes.
Born and raised in sunny Los Angeles, California, Erin traded the palm trees for some cowboy boots when she moved to Fort Worth to attend Texas Christian University. She received her degree in strategic communication with an integrated emphasis in advertising and public relations. Erin is an analytical thinker, motivated to leave no stone unturned. Her interest in people and understanding their motivations led her to a client-facing role in account management.
Born and raised in McKinney, Texas, Kaitlyn is a graduate of Southern Methodist University, where she earned her B.A. in Advertising in 2011. After serving a brief stint as an Art Director for corporate America, Kaitlyn sought creative refuge at Caliber Creative and has been collaborating on award-winning work ever since. In late 2015, Kaitlyn was called away to live in the mountains of Salida, Colorado. She is currently renovating an old 1960s motel and continuing to work for Caliber remotely.
Ginger is a “chiweenie” mix with some serious street-cred. (Not a joke, she is literally a street rescue.) Standing at a staggering 7 inches tall and weighing just under 10.5 pounds, this little nugget is by far the fiercest member of the Caliber team. Ginger’s office duties include looking cute on command, greeting clients and protecting the team from any courier who might try to enter the office too abruptly.
